💧 Peggy’s Hydrotherapy Journey – Healing Without Surgery 🐾
Last year, we were hit with some worrying news about Peggy’s health. After noticing some signs of discomfort, limping and stiffness, we took her for a check-up—and she was diagnosed with possible elbow dysplasia. As a young and active pup who loves her adventures, the idea of long-term mobility issues or surgery was heartbreaking.
But thankfully, with some early action and an incredible team behind her, we’ve managed to avoid surgery and help Peggy feel better, stronger, and happier than ever!
🐶 What Is Elbow Dysplasia?
Elbow dysplasia is a common condition in dogs, especially in larger breeds, where the elbow joint doesn’t develop properly. It can cause pain, stiffness, and long-term arthritis if not treated early. While Peggy’s case wasn’t confirmed as severe, there was enough concern for us to act quickly and explore non-invasive treatments.
💦 Starting Hydrotherapy at Kent Canine Therapy Centre
We were lucky to find the amazing team at Kent Canine Therapy Centre, where Peggy began her hydrotherapy sessions. From the first appointment, the care and attention given to her was incredible.
Hydrotherapy involves gentle exercise in water, which supports the joints while building muscle strength and improving mobility. It was the perfect way to help Peggy regain her confidence and movement without putting extra stress on her elbows.
Each week, she grew stronger, more relaxed, and even began to enjoy the water (even if she still thinks she’s too fancy for a swim cap!).
🌿 Adding CBD Drops to Her Routine
Alongside hydrotherapy, we also introduced regular CBD drops into Peggy’s routine. These helped to reduce inflammation, ease any discomfort, and support her overall wellness in a natural, gentle way.
We always recommend consulting your vet first when using CBD, but for Peggy, it became a great companion to her physical therapy.
✅ The Results: No Surgery, No Setbacks
Fast forward a few months, and we are so relieved to share that Peggy has made amazing progress. Thanks to her hydrotherapy sessions and holistic care, we’ve avoided surgery and kept her condition stable without complications. She’s back to zoomies, countryside walks, and even climbing up on the sofa like nothing ever happened!
🐾 A Huge Thank You
We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Kent Canine Therapy Centre for their support, expertise, and kindness. They made what could have been a scary journey into something empowering and positive — not just for Peggy, but for me too.
